Debt ridden Future Group is taking all measures to cut cost and fuel life in its businesses. After appointing a committee to advise on the restructuring process and taking major decisions of people reshuffling at key positions, the group is currently on restructuring drive for its Big Bazaar stores to cut costs and stay profitable during the tough times. The company is also looking at raising funds by selling stakes in back-end of its food business and Future Capital by July, this year.

After shutting many non-profitable stores this quarter, the company is planning to give a fresh young look to Big Bazaar outlets especially in states like Rajasthan. The company at present owns 150 Big Bazaar stores across 90 cities.

To match its target of infusing freshness in the chain, the company has also launched a new logo and the tagline has been changed to ?Naye India Ka Bazaar? from ?Isse Sasta Aur Achcha Kahin Nahin.? Some of the Big Bazaar stores have also been resized to improve store productivity and efficiency. Cost cutting measures are also being exercised at various levels.
