Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company’s net
sales/income from operations has been recorded at Rs 492.61 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 as against Rs 409.33 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. The net loss was at Rs 33.93 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 against Rs 30.62 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. The company has reported earnings per share of Rs 8.37 for the quarter as compared to Rs 7.93 for the same quarter last year.
Established by Nowrosjee Wadia in 1879 as a small operation of Indian spun cotton yarn dip dyed by hand, Bombay Dyeing has now grown to be one of the most respected and trusted companies in the country. It has made its mark even at the global level. Today, the company is one of India's largest producers of textiles. The daily production at Bombay Dyeing exceeds 300,000 meters of fabrics and it has a wide and strong distribution chain consisting of exclusive shops spread all over the country. Bombay Dyeing also exports to the US, countries in the European Union, Australia and New Zealand. Its sales turnover is more or less equally divided between domestic and international markets. |
