Future on aggressive expansion mode

The Future Group is on an ambitious expansion track. Its fashion value retail format Brand Factory which stands at 15 stores is aiming to be 100 stores in the next three years. Brand Factory had a year-on-year growth of 33 per cent last year and is aiming for a growth of over 30 per cent this financial year. The Group will also open 25 to 30 Big Bazaar outlets by June 2012, and will invest Rs 300 crores on its expansion.

Likewise Central with 18 stores across India aims to take the store count up to 50 in the next three years. The brand saw a year on year growth of about 37 per cent last year and is aiming at a 20 per cent growth this fiscal. While retail forms the core business activity of Future Group, group subsidiaries are present in leisure and entertainment, brand development, retail real estate development, retail media and logistics. The brand feels FDI in retail will help the Indian customer get access to international merchandise at low prices. Also its healthy for competition. Future Group was established in 1994.
