Wills India Fashion Week will be extended to include March 29, making it a six-day extravaganza. The extra day has been labeled as Grand Fashion Day and Fashion of the Heavyweights.
The grand finale of the WIFW will be on March 28, as scheduled, while on March 29 the designers of Day 1 will get a chance to wow audiences with their creations. It may be noted that the first day of the event had to be cancelled as the Delhi Fire Department prevented the show from starting as they felt the venue had inadequate fire exits.
According to the new schedule the auction of designer autos organized by Khushii will also take place on March 29. Designer Ritu Beri?s collection is a tribute to the Indian army. Apart from Ritu Beri, JJ Valaya, Ranna Gill, and Nida Mahmood will also have a showstopper on March 29.
However, not everyone is on board. Designer duo Swapan and Seema say they will not be able to participate on March 29 due to personal reasons. Designer Puneet Nanda of Satya Paul hasn?t confirmed his participation for March 29 either.
Buyers at the event are keen on this extra day being added to the WIFW. Many of them had been especially eager to see the shows scheduled for Day 1. Designers and the media have been assured that March 29, the Grand Fashion Day, will be bigger and better, while Rajesh Pratap Singh will continue as the Grand Finale designer for March 28. All the shows on March 29 have been designated as Grand Finale shows.
