After the success of first Spain-India fashion meet in 2010, fashion fraternities of both the nations have decided to meet again for another round of discussions. Spanish Fashion Designers Association has invited four NIFT graduates from Delhi to showcase their collections at the ramp in Spain. Also on the list of invitees is FDCI president, Sunil Sethi. He is supposed to discuss further collaborations with Spain in the fashion space.

Designers Nida Mahmood, Amit Aggarwal and Paras and Shalini are the four designers that have been invited. They have gone to Madrid and Valladoid for the event scheduled to begin on June 11. Joining them would be the Director General and a senior faculty member of NIFT. Popular Spanish designers Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Amaya Arzuaga, David Delfin, Lemoniez and Charo Azcona, among others, will be present at the fashion event.

The first Spain-India fashion meeting happened in 2010 in Madrid and Valladoid, Spain where a handful of FDCI’s designers were invited to showcase their collections and start a business opportunity there. The FDCI President, Sunil Sethi said based on the lines FDCI did with Japan, he is looking at inviting Spain’s designers to show at the upcoming fashion events in India, so that they can explore the India market. In the long run, he also plans to have FDCI’s designers showcase at Spanish fashion shows.
