Gucci, one of the world’s leading luxury brands has

opened its fifth store in India and third in the Delhi-NCR region. Located at The Oberoi, Gurgaon, the new store spans more than 4220 sq. ft. over two floors, making it the largest Gucci store in the country.

To commemorate the occasion, an exclusive exhibit of iconic pieces from the Gucci Museo that represents the Houses’ eternal icon - the Flora pattern – is on display for a month. The exhibition showcases flora scarves from the 60’s, women’s ready-to-wear pieces including mini dresses, blouses and gowns with the flora prints, original drawings of floral scarves from the 60’s and 70’s by illustrator Vittorio Accornero, handbags with the flora and unique porcelain items such as flora cachepots, ashtrays, glasses, mugs and a lamp. In addition, a selection of evening gowns from the House’s Florentine archive is on display at the store’s VIP Lounge. The designs include Gucci Première dresses worn by Jessica Alba and Berenice Bejo at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, Salma Hayek Pinault’s Gucci Première dress from 2011 Cannes Film Festival and a one of a kind dress worn by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.

To celebrate the opening, Creative Director Frida Giannini has created a special edition of evening bags in anaconda pink tan and blue aqua inspired by the pastel summer shades of the Gucci Cruise 2013 collection. Available as a limited edition, the handbag carries a plaque with the Gucci logo and the name of the boutique.

Patrizio di Marco, President and CEO Gucci said, “The opening of this flagship store in Gurgaon underscores Gucci’s commitment to India. This is our fifth store in this unique country, where we have been operating directly since the end of 2009, and is testament to the importance that we are placing on this fast growing and competitive market. Gucci has established a strong brand recognition in India and also among Indian customers living in the most important luxury destinations around the world, including London, New York and Paris.” The Gurgaon store is one of over 130 stores worldwide.
