LFW Summer/Resort 2012 designers finalised

Lakmé Fashion Week advisory board has finalised and announced the names of designers, who would be a part of the Gen Next and young designer categories for LFW Summer/Resort edition slated from March 1 to March 6, 2012 in Mumbai. With a major initiative, ‘Lakme Fashion Week Celebrates India’, the fashion week promises to bring in more of such initiatives during the gala.As a tribute to celebrate and promote Indian textiles and craftsmanship, Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 will also dedicate the entire day to Indian textiles. All designers showcasing on the Indian Textile Day will promote the use of Indian textiles like Khadi, Jute, Chanderi, Mashru, Kota among many others as well as the use of traditional Indian workmanship. This day would be curated by veteran designer Krishna Mehta who has been promoting the country’s artisans and their work.

LFW has always worked as a platform to establish and boost young Indian talent. It has launched some of the most popular names of the fashion industry. The Lakmé Fashion Week Advisory Board comprises a panel of key stakeholders from the fashion fraternity such as educational institutions, buyers, media personalities and designers.
