Mahindra Retail’s venture, Mom & Me, a specialty store for Indian
mothers, is now entering pre-and post-natal care services. The retail chain is now eyeing hospitals as future partners for its new venture. The retail store Mom and Me promoted by Mahindra Retail, will offer maternity services in cities such as Bangalore and Delhi. This will include consultation services, full-fledged trimester programs, childbirth-related educational programs, yoga and reflexology massages. Mahindra Retail will secure retail space measuring up to 2,500 sq. ft. and tie up with doctors and nursing homes to offer services. The fee would range from Rs 500 to Rs 4,000. It’s also looking to tie-up with hospitals in Delhi and Bangalore for the purpose.
Mom and Me stores are built around the needs of pregnant women, young mothers, infants and children, sell ethnic fashion for women, infant apparel, traditional Indian toys, kids’ footwear and travel products. The stores have in-house activities for parents in the form of parenting forums. Parenting forums are interactive sessions with experts in various fields providing tips on parenting and pregnancy. The stores are well-equipped with facilities such as a separate play area for kids, private feeding rooms, nappy change facilities, extra-wide aisles, seating area for customers to relax and reading rooms stocked with pregnancy and parenting related books. They have stores in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Mangalore, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Indore, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Chandigarh, and Ludhiana and are expanding across most major cities and towns in India |
