OMD India, a media communications specialists, has been assigned the media responsibilities of sports apparel and athletics brand, Puma. OMD won the month-long battle where Puma’s media business in India was up for grabs. Companies that participated in the pitch included incumbent agency, ZenithOptimedia and GroupM agency and Maxus. With the new appointment, OMD India will be assigned all media duties for the popular sports brand across all products in India. Considering the fact that Puma will target young men and women, OMD will use multiple touch points.

In July Puma India signed up with Adrenalin eSystems, the makers of India’s most popular human capital alignment. The way forward for Puma India is rapid and aggressive expansion, to establish a formidable retail presence across India. This would also mean hiring of the best available talent. Adrenalin would help Puma in this endeavor.

Puma India manufactures 80 per cent of its apparel and 25 per cent of its footwear in India. It runs retail operations across the country, along with servicing MBOs. The company was incorporated in 2005 with its office in Bangalore. The first Puma store opened in Chennai.
