Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who has a distinction of being the first Indian designer
to be invited to theMilan Fashion Week, will showcase his collection at the upcoming FDCI Couture Week in New Delhi, from July 15 to 18. It is after five years that he will do a show in New Delhi. Normally, the Couture Week happens in September-October, which is when the designer is working on films. He’s thrilled that this time the timing is convenient and he can participate. He will be presenting a collection with organic fabric from Murshidabad in West Bengal. And fans are ecstatic.
Sabyasachi’s collections are the stuff of cocktail buzz. He has a style and panache of his own and has the knack of springing unexpected surprises. His presentations are marked by verve and tempo. And the applause he gets is deafening. Usually, he is one of the showstoppers at fashion weeks, all over the world. Buyers from all over the world make it a point not to miss his shows. Right now the reclusive designer is in Paris for Raavan’s premiere. The Fashion Design Council of India, too, is elated about getting the ace designer on board. |
