Van Heusen, the well known brand from Madura Fashion & Lifestyle now wants to go to small
towns and cities. It plans to open 50 to 60 exclusive stores each year across India, most of them being franchises. By the end of fiscal 2011-12, Van Heusen will be available at 150 exclusive outlets. The premium apparel brand is currently available at 135 exclusive outlets. Madura has also unveiled a new retail identity for Van Heusen. All the brand’s exclusive stores across India will sport a new look and feel to provide an enhanced shopping experience to consumers. Van Heusen has got a completely new identity, which is very international and premium in nature. Launched in India in 1990, Van Heusen targets the successful, sophisticated, erudite, multi-faceted professional. To cater to youngsters, the brand came into club wear with V dot.
Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, a division of Aditya Birla Nuvo, is one of India’s fastest growing branded apparel companies and a premium lifestyle player in the retail sector. Besides Van Heusen, it sells brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England and People through around 1,000 retail points that include both conventional and multi-brand stores. Along with expansion plans, the company is expecting a rise in the revenue from the premium brand of Rs 8.5 billion at the end of current fiscal. Last fiscal, it grossed a turnover of Rs 6.5 billion. And for the next fiscal, 2012-13, the company has set a target of Rs 11 billion. |
