WIFW A/W ‘12 to begin on Feb 15

Tuesday, 13 December 2011

The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Autumn/Winter 2012, the five-day fashion extravaganza is expected to begin on February 15, 2012. Though the dates are being finalised, organisers are re-checking and confirming the availability of sponsors and designers before formally announcing them. The last edition of WIFW, held at Pragati Maidan in October saw more than 120 designers showcasing their designs on the ramp and through their stalls. Organisers are expecting a similar response even this time.

Last season of WIFW clearly brought into focus FDCI’s intentions of promoting fashion converting the WIFW into business-to-business event. With an objective to encourage and endorse designers to grow their brands nationally and internationally and widen their customer base, WIFW allows designers to showcase their collection to domestic and international buyers, media and the fashion industry. The event also benchmarks the trends for the forthcoming season.

FDCI’s initiative of organizing this mammoth trade event is supported by the ministry of commerce and industry, by facilitating the presence of buyers and media from across the world.
