WLIFW showcases 141 designers

The eagerly awaited Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2011 edition is being held from April, 6 to 10 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has already chosen the star-studded list of ramp designers. The mega event is focused on the business of fashion spread over five days of design innovation aligned with prolific business opportunities. This time it will showcase collections by 141 designers on the runway and in the stalls. With a total of 41 shows and 77 designers on the show schedule and 64 in the stall, this season of WLIFW will witness five action-packed days of haute fashion under one roof.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, said: “Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week has always been a successful platform for buyer-seller interactions. It is gratifying to see this overwhelming response from leading and emerging designers who will participate at WLIFW. We still have a long waiting list of designers, who could not be accommodated, as we are falling short of space despite moving into a larger venue.”

The line-up has big names. On the first day, star designer names of the day include Monapali and Tarun Tahiliani, whilst on day two are Ritu Kumar and Rajesh Pratap Singh. On day three Shantanu & Nikhil, James Ferreira and Manish Malhotra share the runway with the others. The finale of this event is being executed by ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
