Bollywood shines at Shabana’s show

Charity seems to be buzzword in Bollywood of later. After Salman Khan’s successful Being Human show, where Bollywood stars and Mumbai’s glitterati walked the ramp for a cause, there was an encore at Shabana Azmi's charity show -- to help girl children in her ancestral town Mizwan. The who's who of Bollywood - from Priyanka Chopra, Shilpa Shetty and Lara Dutta to Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Ranbir Kapoor walked the ramp. They showcased designs by well known designer Manish Malhotra who has adopted the tiny village of Mijwan in UP, where 45 girls will be working for him. He says he is not doing it for charity but because he wants to showcase their talent by putting their chikankari on display for international clients and movie stars.

Many of the clothes were from the collection that he had designed for three back-to-back shows and were traditional Indian wear. While Hrithik wore a sherwani, Ranbir was seen in a bright red chikankari salwar. Shilpa Shetty, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta wore lehengas. Prateik Babbar and Kunal Kapoor grabbed eyeballs in their pajamas that reflected their chilled out personas.
