Keeping the response to collections of their private

labels in mind, many retailers are planning to launch them as solo brands in the market by opening exclusive stores. Of late, private labels have been receiving great response, amid the slow economy and high inflation owing to 5-25 percent low rates compared to other brands.

For instance, Indus League Clothing is planning to unveil stores for its in-house brands Bare and Rig gaging positive consumer response. The company had earlier opened exclusive stores for its John Miller brand apart from offering the label through multi-brand outlets.

Lifestyle too has launched exclusive outlets of its in-house ethnic wear brand Melange, after witnessing Rs 100 crores revenues reported by it in the year 2011. Even kids’ wear brand Gini & Jony has expressed its desire to unveil standalone stores for their two brands – Palm Tree and GJ Jeans by December this year. These brands are already contributing 13-17 percent to company’s growth.
