As per media reports, the end of season sales this year is

bringing cheer to most apparel brands and retailers. And Spanish fast fashion retailer Zara seems to be particularly doing well in this context. As per reports, Zara’s store at Select City Walk in Delhi registered sales worth Rs 96 lakh on the first day of sale, whereas its store at Pacific Mall in the capital recorded Rs 65 lakh sales on Day One (15 percent more than the first day sale of last year) and its store at Infiniti Mall in Mumbai witnessed Rs 1.7 crores in the first three days.

Other brands are following the suit too with Tommy Hilfiger at Select City Walk reporting sales of Rs 20 lakh on the first day, a one-day record sale for any of its store in the country, while Infiniti Mall, Mumbai reported its highest-ever footfall of 77,000 on Sunday.

Apparel and fashion accessories retailers, who were a worried due to low consumer sentiment and slow economy are now pinning their hopes on the discount season, when consumers usually loosen their purse strings to make purchases for the year as well as festive season. A lot of personal shopping as well as for gifting happens during this period keeping in mind, the festive and wedding seasons ahead.
